The Amarnath Yatra Helicopter Service provides a safe, comfortable, and convenient option for pilgrims undertaking the holy pilgrimage to the Shri Amarnathji Cave. Located at an altitude of approximately 13,000 feet in the Himalayas, the Holy Cave presents a challenging trek due to steep mountain terrain, high altitude, and unpredictable weather conditions.

Helicopter operations make the pilgrimage significantly more accessible, especially for senior citizens, families, and Yatris with time or physical constraints, allowing them to pay homage to the naturally formed Ice Shivlinga easily.

Routes, Operators & Fares

1. Baltal to Panchtarni Route

Operators: Himalayan Heli and Global Vectra.
Flying Time: Approximately 8 minutes.
Fare: Approximately ₹3,800 per person (round trip / return ticket).
Highlights: Faster transit and more economical compared to the Pahalgam route.

2. Pahalgam to Panchtarni Route

Operator: UT Air.
Flying Time: Approximately 15 minutes.
Fare: Approximately ₹6,800 per person (round trip / return ticket).
Highlights: Highly scenic aerial view across the valleys and snow-capped Himalayan ranges.

Key Guidelines & Shrine Board Regulations

Regulation: All helicopter services are regulated directly by the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB).
Helipad Drop-off: Helicopters land at the Panchtarni Helipad, located approximately 5 to 6 km from the Holy Cave. Yatris can trek the remaining distance on foot or hire a pony/palki (doli).
Health Requirements: A valid Compulsory Health Certificate (CHC) signed by an SASB-authorized medical doctor is mandatory for all helicopter passengers.
Weather Dependency: Helicopter flights operate strictly subject to clear weather and visibility conditions in the mountains.
